What It Does
Relighting is the process of changing the apparent light source and quality in footage. A relit shot has consistent shadows, reflections, and color temperature that match the new lighting direction.
The Relight IC-LoRA takes an exterior video clip and rewrites the sunlight to match a specified direction (north, south-east, behind the camera, etc.) and a lighting look (hard directional, soft diffused, warm golden, and ten others trained into the model). The LoRA uses a light-direction sphere as its conditioning input. You choose the desired lighting direction and describe the lighting look (such as warm golden or hard directional), and the model relights the scene in a single pass. The included ComfyUI workflow automatically generates the required reference input.
The result is a complete relight in one pass. No per-frame grading. No separate relighting model at inference. One sphere, one prompt, one relit clip.
Base relighting approaches often fail on shadows, produce inconsistent reflections, or require extensive manual touch-up. This IC-LoRA was trained on real exterior footage pairs with matched lighting across different sun directions and hardness levels. That training means it understands how light interacts with geometry, reflections, and color temperature.

How It Works
The LoRA conditions on a reference video: your source clip with a light-direction sphere composited into the top-right corner of every frame. The sphere encodes the target sun direction and altitude. You pair it with a minimal caption that specifies the look (warm golden, hard directional, soft overcast, etc.) and the direction (from the right, behind, front-left, etc.).
The model reads the sphere as a spatial instruction and applies the LoRA to relight the clip to match. Everything happens in a single pass at the target resolution.
The prompt format is fixed:
relight the video to match the light-direction ball. <look> from <direction>
Choose one of the 12 trained looks:
hard directional sunlight / hard high-angle sunlight / hard low-angle sunlight / soft diffused daylight / soft warm afternoon light / cool soft daylight / dim overcast light / strong backlight with rim light / soft hazy backlight / warm golden low front sun / warm golden low side sun / frontal sunlight
Choose one of eight directions:
the front / front-right / the right / back-right / behind / back-left / the left / front-left
Here's a concrete example:

The Ocean example above uses this exact prompt. The negatives prevent the model from falling into synthetic or degraded outputs. The LoRA strength stays at 1.0 across all scenarios—the sphere controls intensity.
